Cartoon Caption Contest!

We're running a cartoon caption contest, so if you think you know what Pres. Bush is saying to John McCain tell me. The winner will be announced next Tuesday...

Hillary Clinton claims to be the strongest candidate...

I wasn't a big Hillary fan to start with, but my opinion has gotten even lower. Her willingness to pander is appalling: shots in a bar, fake accents, tax holidays...She wants this job too much.

This one won't see the light of day, though. My editor and I disagree about the use of the term 'b.s.'. I looked up other possibilities in my thesarus, but they all had that dated 'editorialese' feel to them: hokum, poppycock, hogwash...who the hell talk like that, anyway?

I'll hold onto this, though. I originally drew a version of this about Gary Hart and sooner or later I'll find the right situation for it.

Local meteorologists get a bit worked up...

Last Thursday I was trying to watch 'The Office'...the best show on tv... and it was preempted for weather coverage.

Two questions:1. Couldn't they accomplish the same thing with a 'crawl' along the bottom of the screen?

And B. If they're on the air for people in the path of tornadoes aren't those people a bit busy and unlikely to be watching tv?

Cartooning 101...

Here's my first attempt at this idea. I wanted to draw parallels between the two situations, but this idea seemed a bit flat...

The addition of a second panel adds a sense of timing. This is also a good example of a 'misdirection cartoon'...you start off in one direction and then quickly cut to another subject...
